PROCLAIM THE POWER OF GOD

I am in the final week of a 4 month healing and evangelism ministry in Asia. I am writing this blog in Ipoh, Malaysia. The food in Ipoh is so good! There are many Chinese people living in this city. Thus, there are many restuarants with great food. We had an awesome healing meeting in Hope Ipoh and God healed people including an 81 year old elderly lady who can read clearly after prayer.

Before the healing meeting in Ipoh, God reminded me of His awesome power through Psalm 68:34-35,

34 Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in the skies.

35 You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!

Let us proclaim the power of God wherever we are. God wants to empower every believer to demonstrate His love and compassion.

Recently, I read an inspirational book called Kathryn Kuhlman - "The Woman behind the Miracles". This book really challenged my faith for miracles. Kathryn Kuhlman was an evangelist who preached the gospel for 48 years. She was born in 1907 and died in 1976. She started a traveling ministry at the age of 21. God used Kathryn Kuhlman to bring salvation and healing to many people. It is believed that two 2 millions people were healed under her healing ministry. Her famous books included: "I believe in Miracles", "God can do it again" and "Nothing is Impossible with God"

Kathryn Kuhlman
- Evangelist

It was on July 4, 1948 that the first Kathryn Kuhlman "miracle service" was held at Carnegie Hall, North Side - the first of many such services to be held regularly over the years of her ministry in Pittsburgh. Kathryn Kuhlman moved from Franklin, Pennsylvania to Pittsburgh, after the roof of Faith Temple in Sugar Creek (where she had been conducting services since l947) fell in under the weight of the greatest snowfall in area history on Thanksgiving Day, l950. And it was in l954 that she founded The Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation.

Kathryn Kuhlman was once asked, "What do you regard as the ultimate goal of your ministry?" To which she replied: "MY PURPOSE IS THE SALVATION OF SOULS. Divine healing is secondary to the transformation of a life. Today, that is still the PURPOSE of The Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation, as we continue to minister to the needs of people in this country and abroad through the outreaches of the Foundation.

Kathryn Kuhlman was born-again at the age of fourteen in the Methodist Church of Concordia, Missouri. In her own words, she said of that experience and her ministry: "It was the beginning of something that changed my whole life. All that I knew was the glorious new birth experience, and (as a young girl) when I went to preach to those farmers in Idaho, I could tell them nothing more than what I had experienced: that Jesus would forgive their sins. So, I preached salvation all across Idaho to every farmer, to everyone who would listen; but gradually I began to realize there was someone besides the Father and the Son - there was this Third Person of the Trinity. I felt compelled to know more regarding Him and, as I began searching and studying God's Word, I could see that divine healing also was in the atonement."

"It was in Franklin, Pennsylvania in the old Billy Sunday Tabernacle. I had gone to Franklin by faith (l946), not knowing what I would find there. It was in the third service, as I was preaching on the Holy Spirit, sharing with the people the little that I knew about that Third Person of the Trinity - a woman stood up and testified to her healing of a tumor. That was the first healing that took place in this ministry. It happened without the laying on of hands, without any special prayer; it just happened as a woman sat in the audience while I was preaching on the power of the Holy Spirit. Since that time, there have been thousands and thousands of healings. WHAT IS THE SECRET? It is the Third Person of the Trinity - the Holy Spirit!"

Kathryn Kuhlman always pointed men and women to Jesus, emphasizing that the greatest miracle was the transformation of a life. She often said:
"I believe in miracles with every atom of my being... because I believe in God - but Kathryn Kuhlman has nothing to do with the healing of sick bodies. I have no healing power. It's the power of God that does the healing. The only part I have in it is making Jesus real to the hearts of men and women. Any results there might be in this life of mine, is not Kathryn Kuhlman. It's the Holy Spirit; IT'S WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES THROUGH A YIELDED VESSEL."

Fifty stations carried her thirty-minute broadcasts, five days a week, covering most of the nation; in Canada; and overseas broadcasts reaching much of Europe. The last ten years of her life, her weekly half-hour television programs (produced at CBS in Los Angeles) were shown throughout the United States and Canada. Many of her radio sermons and television programs from the "I Believe in Miracles" series are available today from the Foundation's office.

Kathryn Kuhlman had a heart for missions as well, and during her lifetime The Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation erected and presented, debt-free, the following Mission Stations to native congregations as a gift. After her Homegoing, the last two were erected, with the Memorial Church in El Salvador paid for by gifts from her Canadian friends.

Today, the outreaches of the Foundation, both in this country and abroad, are supported by free-will contributions to this ministry, as the Holy Spirit lays it upon the hearts of individuals to give.

Kathryn Kuhlman went Home to be with the Lord on February 20, 1976, but the legacy she left of anointed teachings and works, are still being used of the Holy Spirit to bless countless lives.

The PURPOSE of the Foundation is to get the glorious message of the Gospel out, as far and as effectively as possible...to share with others the love of Jesus and His saving grace. We are also here to encourage the Body of Christ, and to agree in prayer with YOU for whatever miracle is needed in your life or for whatever burden is upon your heart.

Always remember, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD!

Hello, Peter. I am glad that you received a blessing from reading my biography, "Kathryn Kuhlman, The Woman Behind the Miracles." She was greatly used of God. I pray that the Holy Spirit will use you around the world. Keep humble and willing. Unfortunately, the USA edition of the book is out of print, but it has been published in German, Spanish, and perhaps other languages. God bless you. Wayne Warner
