CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY IN KL

I celebrated my birthday in Kuala Lumpur (KL) for the first time at Thomas and Fiu See's house. Thomas is a great chef. He cooked so many nice dishes. Fiu See baked a beautiful birthday cake for me. I am so blessed to have made so many good friends in Malaysia over the years. It was a pleasant surprise to discover anther member of the staff in KL has the same birthday as me. We went out for lunch with Ps Moses to celebrate our birthday. I also got to celebrate my birthday for a third time in Seremban with some friends. God is good.

I believe in miracles

I really love the story of Jesus healing the official's son in John 4:43-54. I am amazed by the faith of the official coming to Jesus requesting for a miracle healing. His son was in a critical condition at home. He went looking for Jesus to heal his son.

Jesus Heals the Official's Son

43After the two days he left for Galilee. 44(Now Jesus himself had pointed out that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) 45When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him. They had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, for they also had been there. 46Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. 47When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death. 48"Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders," Jesus told him, "you will never believe." 49The royal official said, "Sir, come down before my child dies." 50Jesus replied, "You may go. Your son will live." The man took Jesus at his word and departed. 51While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. 52When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, "The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour." 53Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." So he and all his household believed. 54This was the second miraculous sign that Jesus performed, having come from Judea to Galilee.

Three things we can learn from this story:
  • The official came to Jesus for a healing miracle
  • The official took Jesus at His word
  • The official believed in God after the miracle
Let us expect God to do miracles in our lives like the official in this story. He believed that Jesus could heal his son at home. Let us listen and believe in the words of Jesus because it can bring healing. Jesus gave the command and the child was healed. Finally, miracles can stir our hearts to believe in God. Miracles can bring confirmation of the reality of God. When we pray for a miracle and God answers our prayer, we know God exist. When we can see creation, we know there is a Creator. When we experience a miracle, we know that God is alive. Pray for a miracle today like the official in John 4:43-54.

FAITH OF THE CENTURION

I really love the adventure that God has for each and every of His children. Traveling around the world, meeting new friends, trying different kinds of food is an adventures of my life. God is so good! He has a perfect plan for each person. Discover God's plan for your life today. Below are some new photos that I have taken in various places.

I shared a message on "Faith of the Centurion" recently. This message really reminded me about the importance of faith in troubled times with a global recession and swine flu pandemic.

Luke 7:1-10 (New International Version)

The Faith of the Centurion

1When Jesus had finished saying all this in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum. 2There a centurion's servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die. 3The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant. 4When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, "This man deserves to have you do this, 5because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue."

6So Jesus went with them.
He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: "Lord, don't trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. 7That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. 8For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."

9When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel." 10Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.
  • We need to turn to God and not focus on the crisis
The centurion did not focus on the crisis: the servant's illness. He looked to Jesus for an answer to his crisis. We should not put so much focus on the problem in life and lose sight of Jesus. Our challenges in life can be great opportunities for God to demonstrate His love and power. Therefore, we need to turn to God and not focus on the crisis only.
  • We need to believe God to do impossible
The centurion had faith that Jesus could heal his servant even before seeing it happen. He did not require Jesus to visit his home. He just requested Jesus through his servants to make the command to heal his servant at home. He believed in Jesus' power and authority over sickness. God can do all things so we need to trust in Him. Nothing is impossible for God.
  • We will be rewarded through faith in God
Jesus was amazed by the faith of the centurion. When the men returned home, the servant was healed. God will reward us when we trust in His love, wisdom and power. Let us put our faith in God in troubled times. God can do all things and He will not disappoint His children. God is faithful and He will reward our faith with His blessings and provision. Desire to have the faith of the Centurion today.

Healing Testimony

I was so encouraged by Lenders Suming's healing testimony in Melbourne, Australia. We prayed for Lenders in 2008 for her long term abdominal pain. She had the abdominal pain for the past three to four years. After the prayer, the pain totally disappeared. I met Lenders again in Melbourne on May 2009 and did this video interview below.

The Healing power of Christ

Today I shared a message entitled " The Healing power of Christ" from Luke Luke 5:17-26

Luke 5:17-26 (New International Version)

Jesus Heals a Paralytic

17One day as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law, who had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem, were sitting there. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick. 18Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.

20When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven." 21The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, "Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

22Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, "Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 23Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? 24But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." He said to the paralyzed man, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." 25Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, "We have seen remarkable things today."

Jesus was given authority and power from God to bring healing to three realms.
  • Healing in the physical realm
  • Healing in the spiritual realm
  • Healing in the emotional realm
Firstly, in this passage of scriptures, this cripple man was healed by Jesus and he was able to walk. It was the supernatural power of God that enable this cripple man to walk when Jesus commanded him to walk. Secondly, Jesus said the cripple man "Friend, your sins are forgiven". This is healing in the spiritual realm. This cripple man was separated from God due to sin but Jesus came to restore his relationship with God. Jesus pardoned the cripple man's sins so he can have a relationship with God. Thirdly, many people rejoiced when they witnessed a miracle healing. Jesus brought joy to the cripple man by healing him physically and spiritually. This once cripple man was able to work instead of being a beggar. Jesus restored his dignity and self worth. This is healing of the emotional realm.

We need to come to Jesus for God's healing power like this cripple man. God wants to heal us in the physical realm, spiritual realm and emotional realm. After the message, we began to pray for people and we witnessed God healing people. Glory to God! Tap into the healing power of Christ today.

IN HIS PRESENCE

Last Saturday night, I went out for nice dinner in kuching with friends. The food in Kuching is so good! I love the Laksa in Kuching. I also love the dessert in Kuching! There are so many nice places to eat to Kuching. I wish we have this kind of food in Australia! I went on two days retreat with friends at Santubong Kuching Resort. I had a great time swimming on the beach and playing games and eating seafood. Good to relax on the public holidays (Gawai Harvest Festival) in Kuching.

In His Presence

In His presence, I will find His love.
In His presence, I will find His purpose.
In His presence, I will find His peace
In His presence, I will find His joy
In His presence, I will find His anointing
Where would I be without His presence?

Again and again, I am reminded to seek the glory of God. I need more of His presence in my life. God often uses situation in our lives to remind us that we need His presence. We were created to have communion with God. Just like trees need rain, we need God to live a prospering lives. Without God our lives will be in chaos. We will have the wrong focus or motivation in life. This is one of my favourite Psalm in the bible. It talks about the blessings of seeking the presence of God.

Psalm 84 (New International Version)

1 How lovely is your dwelling place,
O LORD Almighty!

2 My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the LORD;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.

3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young—
a place near your altar,
O LORD Almighty, my King and my God.

4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.
Selah

5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.

6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
they make it a place of springs;
the autumn rains also cover it with pools. [b]

7 They go from strength to strength,
till each appears before God in Zion.

8 Hear my prayer, O LORD God Almighty;
listen to me, O God of Jacob.
Selah

9 Look upon our shield, [c] O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.

10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.

12 O LORD Almighty,
blessed is the man who trusts in you.

May you be encouraged to seek more of the presence of God through reading this Psalm. Let us seek God today for we are design to commune with the living God.
