LANDED IN MANILA, PHILIPPINES

Manila is a fascinating place to visit. The city is crowded with people everywhere at anytime. The population of Manila is 9.5 millions and growing each day as people move to the city to find work. The people in Manila are friendly. I like to walk around the streets in Manila because there are always somethings to see. I also love visiting the shopping mall in Manila because it is so huge.

Here are photos of Manila

I am staying in front of a shopping mall in Manila. You can see the traffic in Manila is very busy (above).
Don't worry if you are caught in the traffic jam because there are vendors who want to sell things on the road (above).

There are thousands of jeeps in Manila. It is the most affordable transport system in Manila. Every jeep has a different decoration. I am standing in front of a jeep with a picture of mother Mary (above).

I took a photo of three colourful jeeps in blue, green and yellow. It is fun to ride on a jeep. It can be packed inside with many people. A ride cost only 10 peso (above).

This is a city view of Manila busy street traffic (above). Be careful when you cross the road because there are many cars, jeeps, buses and motorbikes!

I went to visit a university in Manila. The university is so big that they have KFC restaurant for students. The university even has it own private hospital inside the campus. There are thousand of students in this university. All of the students dressed in white top and black pants (above).

Sharing to university students in Manila.

I had the opportunity to share with about 8 students over lunch time period. I was inspired by to speak about "knowing God". I spoke from John 17:25-26

John 17:25-26 (New International Version)

25"Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."

1) Jesus came to make known the Father

The Jews were very religious people but they did not know God personally. Jesus came to demonstrate the heart and nature of God to the people. It is through Jesus that we can come to know God. There is no other way to know God except through Jesus Christ.

2) Jesus continue to make known the Father

The relationship that God wants us to have is on-going. Thus Jesus continue to make known the Father to the disciples through the Holy Spirit. We need to know God personally and not only at a superficial level. We should desire to know God more each day and not be content to yesterday relationship and experience.

3) Jesus wants people to experience God's love

God wants to pour His love into our hearts on a daily basis. In order to experience God's love, we need to seek and know God personally. "Religion" will not draw us closer to God but "relationship" will draw us closer to God. I encouraged the Filipino students to desire to know God for themselves. We ended the meeting with me giving words of encouragement to each student.

I was glad to share my relationship with God to Filipino students. I want to encourage all of us to do likewise. Let us help others to know God personally and not just at the surface level. God is just too good to know too little! Amen!

Healing Testimony:

When I was in Manila, I had an opportunity to pray for a lady with vision problem. She has blur vision in one of her eyes. Pastor Soradej, staff members and myself laid hands on her in the office. After prayer, she testified that her eyesight has improved. She can see things brighter compare to before prayer. Praise God for the opportunity to demonstrate His love and power through prayer.

A MIRACLE GOD

This week, I started the first healing meeting of 2009 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We had healing meetings on Wednesday night (Hope Serdang), Friday night (Hope PJ Working Adults) and Sunday morning (Hope PJ Mandarin Service). The Spirit of God was present to heal and set people free. On Wednesday afternoon, I went to Serdang hospital with some friends to pray for a lady. This lady was admitted to the hospital because of pain in her body. We prayed for God to remove the pain from her body. After the second prayer, she was able to sit up from the hospital bed and felt much better. Praise God; the next day, she was discharged from the hospital.

A sister who received prayer two years ago because she had a large cyst in her womb. After her check-up, the doctor said the cyst in her womb is gone. Glory to God!

Today in Hope PJ Mandarin church, I preached a message entitled "Good News for 2009". I encouraged the church members and visitors to believe God for great things in 2009 despite the economic crisis. As Christians we have a living Hope. Our hope is in the living God.

I preached a sermon from Mark 16:1-6:

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body. 2Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?"

But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.

Jesus is Alive! He has risen! He is no longer in the tomb. We need to believe that Jesus is alive today and He is able to help us in all areas of life such as family, job, business, ministry and health. God is not dead as some believed. He is still alive. He is only a prayer away. Let us turn to God in these trouble times and receive His provision and blessings.

The resurrection of Christ means...

1. We can receive blessings from God

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. John 14:13

2. We can receive healing from God

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24

3. We can receive forgiveness from God

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21

FLYING OFF AGAIN

This week is my last week in Brisbane, Australia before flying off to overseas again. I am getting ready for another five weeks of healing ministry in Malaysia and Philippines. I will be traveling to three cities in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Malacca) and two cities in Philippines (Manila and Davao). I spent sometimes on the Saturday in worship, prayer and fasting. Seeking God for guidance and direction for the healing meetings. I am believing God for more anointing and the leading of the Holy Spirit over the next five weeks....

Here are photos in Kuching, East Malaysia

Partnership with the Holy Spirit

I really want to partner more with the Holy Spirit in 2009 during the healing meetings. Here are four areas that I need the Holy Spirit;
  • Holy Spirit giving power
The power of healing does not come from human but come from the Holy Spirit. No one can heal without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. So I want to spent more time waiting on the Holy Spirit to give me the power to minister healing to people (Acts 1:8).

Acts 1:8 (New International Version)

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

  • Holy Spirit giving spiritual gifts
The gifts of the Holy Spirit is essential for healing ministry. The Holy Spirit wants to pour of spiritual gifts such as, message of wisdom, message of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, miraculous powers, prophecy etc (1 Cor 12:7-11).

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 (New International Version)

7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.
  • Holy Spirit giving revelation
The Holy Spirit will give revelation from the Father during the healing ministry. I need to listen to the Holy Spirit to speak to me when praying for people. What is the cause of sickness? How God wants to heal this person? How can I follow the Holy Spirit to create an atmosphere of miracle? (John 14:26).

John 14:26 (New International Version)

26But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
  • Holy Spirit giving love
The bible says love in the most important element in a Christian. Love for God and love for others. I really want to demonstrate God's love during the healing ministry. I know that I am quite limited in the area of love. I need God to fill me with His everlasting love and compassion for people who are in need. Today, I pray for two people in church with serious illness. I feel God's love for them as I pray for their healing (Romans 5:5).

Romans 5:5 (New International Version)

5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

I pray that you will also grow in your partnership with the Holy Spirit in 2009. Let us rely on the Holy Spirit more and more in our family, work and ministry.
